I got the idea for Week in the Life from Kelly's Korner . I love her blog because she just relates life as its happening. So here we go with our day today:
Monday's at 10am for the summer are typically reserved for our Beth Moore Bible study with Breaking Free but Saturday night and Sunday our house was hit with a stomach big and I thought it best to push it back a week. I'm loving this study and am so very thankful that Ashley, Dani, Erika, Jill, and Meghan are joining me for it. I shouldn't be writing about the Bible study since that didn't happen today.
I was feeling a bit better this morning so we decided I could manage walking up to the corner of our street so that Kennedy could enjoy her first 4th of July parade with Ya Ya and Papa John (Kyle's parent's grandparent names that I love).

We were back at the house and all napped for the rest of the afternoon. I checked for updates on the Casey Anthony trial on Fox News from time to time (is that sad or what?), folded laundry, and took it easy. At 7pm we headed to Kyle's parents house for dinner and then over to the Wittenburg's house in Plum Creek to watch the fireworks. Today has been a wonderful day that I will not soon forget.
**** My favorite holiday is by far the 4th of July because it reminds me that freedom is not free and we have reason to celebrate as this great nation. The fourth of July puts a deep stirring in my heart each and every year as I remember what our servicemen and women have done and do daily to keep our freedom in tact furthermore I am reminded of what our savior did for us. Hebrews 12 tells us that, "for the joy that was set before Him (Jesus) endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God" Let us not close our eyes tonight without knowing that freedom is not free. Jesus died for us and it's the only reason we can live and walk in freedom and because of our great military/country we are free to praise Him freely.
