Oh November

Here we go:

I'm throwing a blog post in this A.M. real quick before we start our whirlwind finish the month strong Texas tour. By tour I mean we are heading to Victoria, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, New Braunfels, and Seguin. I am so very thankful for parents and in-laws who LOVE to help with Kennedy and for a daughter who is easy going enough to fall asleep at her grandparents and wake up at our house.

Thanks George:

There's a road a winding road that never ends
Full of curves lessons learned at every bend
Goin's rough unlike the straight and narrow
It's for those who go against the grain
Have no fear dare to dream of a change live to march to the beat of a
different drummer
And it all might come together
And it all might come unraveled
On the road less traveled

For the road less traveled ain't for the faint of heart
For those who choose to play it safe and never stray too far
Me I want to live my life and one day leave my mark
And it all might come together
And it all come unraveled
On the road less traveled

Thinking

"Positive minds produce positive lives" -Joyce Meyer

Well ain't that the truth?

I've also read, "whether you think you can or you think you can't you're right" Napoleon Hill

Do you believe these 2 insights? I totally do. I think we have the power to do amazing things if we will follow through with the strike of brilliance that exists in our minds. I know there are several things that I have given up on simply because I was not strong enough mentally to see them through. I also know that I have completed or am currently in situations that I have thought I could do it and done it or am currently working towards completion of. Is there something that you've been talking yourself out of or a calling that you have pushed aside? I know it's not there by accident. I'm learning to take every thought captive. Talk to me! I want to hear what you're thinking.

The Perfect Ending

What a day!

Finished with our family tradition of eating dinner out at Mamacitas and then on to Santa's Ranch. We bought the season pass this year so we can go as many times as we want. You should go there too!

So Far Today

Kyle is working in Victoria, TX today but we took time this morning to decorate for Christmas and my dad, sister, & nephew got to help us. We watched some football on mute while Christmas music played and had a blast. After that we took a stroll to subway for a healthy lunch & now we are on to more Christmas tradition stuff. I'll fill you in later tonight but just know that this evening is very special to me. Can't wait for Kennedy Kate to share in all our Christmas traditions.

Such a special time of year.

Thanksgiving

What a great day!

We enjoyed lunch with Kyle's family
Watched the cowboys game
Drank lots of coffee
Ate great food
Took a short nap
Went to my dads
Ate more great food
Watched the Texas game
Cuddled with my nephew Landon while watching Charlie Brown
And now we are decorating for Christmas!
So fun
So thankful
Now counting down to the best of days!

How was your day?

A Little Update

So majority rules and the new blog title will be "Life on Purpose". Now I guess I better start living purposefully ;)

I told myself that if I lost all baby weight by Breaking Dawn opening night I could go see it opening night. Not only did I hit my goal but I passed it up! The day I went to have Kennedy I weighed 212. I got stuck at 177 for about 6 months and finally got sick of it. I weighed 160 the day I found out I was pregnant with miss K and Thursday I weighed in at 157.2! I haven't weighed that since marathon February 2009. Yay! So I went at midnight to see Breaking Dawn and celebrated with Diet Coke. Yum!

FHTM has now added electricity and gas to our product line! So exciting!

Our Houston team is launched and we have added a weekly meeting there to our line up! So excited that I'll be able to see my mom on a weekly basis now.

Landon and Lindsey are spending a week with us.

Kennedy got one of her top teeth

I guess that's it for now! Here are some pics :)

LIVEstrong

What do you think?

Should I start training for the Austin LIVEstrong marathon that's on feb 19th? Should I? I have to make up my mind soon because I'd HAVE to start tomorrow....
Hmm
It's a big commitment y'all. Here's a modified training schedule I found but I'd have to eliminate 2 weeks to fit training in prior to marathon day. I'll let you know..
Tomorrow

Any Time

Ever have one of those days where you say out loud, "any time you want to come back Jesus you can just come on back"? It's not that today was particularly bad or that things have been going wrong, it's that my heart has been heavy with Ecclesiastes lately. It's not about me pondering my purpose or about fear. It's just that since last Sunday when pastor Ryan preached a sermon on the Mount of Olives (no not a sermon about the Mount of Olives but he was physically preaching to us here in Austin via prerecorded footage from the top of the Mount of Olives) and I SAW with my own EYES where Jesus, my Savior walked and where He will return i've been longing y'all. I want much more intimacy with Jesus than I have had in the past. When I have a yearning for Jesus like this it makes me know and understand why everything else is meaningless. A chasing after the wind. I understand a little bit more about why finishing is better than starting. Been singing these lyrics all week long:
"I'm running through the gates of love as fast as I can" -Phil Wickham
"get over get over get over the sun"
-Shane and Shane

Ever had a stirring in your spirit like this?

Post 21

Well this post is my last post in my 3 week challenge and I am officially ready for a blog break. I think I will go back to writing a couple of times a week, to keep you on your toes. I started playing with an online blog name generator and I came up with a few titles I think could work for this here blog. I will keep "Gotta Run" as a running/training/fitness/health blog but transition this one to a more well rounded "life" blog. Here are some titles that I am pondering. I would like your input:

  1. Pink Reports
  2. Everyday J
  3. Faith, Fit, Free
  4. The Life of Jenny C
  5. The Jenny Skinny
  6. Fabulous J
  7. Scatter Joy

What is in a Name?

Today is day 20 of my 21 day challenge and I've really enjoyed writing every day. I'm just curious about how I can get my blog out there more. I've always been a bit concerned about my blog title because I know "running", as in physical activity, is not appealing to most. I bet I miss a lot of people based on that fact alone. I briefly changed my blog title to Childress Chatter but I changed it back because it just didn't fit me. I'd like some suggestions for new titles. I like Julie's "Four Sons" blog title because it it tells me with its name that she has adventures to share.
I like Crystal's "everything Crystalized" because it's her name and tells of a point of view.
Other blog titles I like are:
Life Shiny Side Up
Plum Skinny
Alamode

Bottom line: I want something catchy that broadens my horizons. I'm more than a runner y'all!

Bring it

1:21 AM

I'll blog early today since I can't seem to fall asleep. I saw a quote somewhere recently that said something like, "if you can't fall asleep don't count sheep count your blessings" I don't think that's quite it but you get the picture. So I was laying here NOT counting sheep & thinking about all the times every single day the Lord provides and I got so excited that now I can't sleep! The keeper of the stars has me up and blogging about His goodness. So today at this early hour I am thankful.
Thank you Lord for a wonderful day! Thank you that you restore.
Thank you for my family.
Thank you for sunny days.
And victories
And challenges
And walks to the park
And swinging
And baby laughs
And goals
And life
And breath
Thank You for holding all of my days and for knowing me full well.
Amen!

November?

November got here fast! Don't you agree? Yesterday was the most amazing day for team growth with 7 new team members joining in one day! Ann Johnson of Fredericksburg promoted to Regional Sales manager & 2 other families are just a few away. The most exciting part is that well over 100 families will receive paychecks this month for living their life with a pay plan. What a blessing to be a part of this!

When we got home from Halloween festivities for Kennedy and our Fredericksburg meeting for us we made our pumpkin seeds from The Pioneer Woman and listened to our training call.

I'm ready for you November. I have big plans for you! I'm putting them to paper (or text) right now:
1. Lose these last 4 baby weight pounds
2. Run 4 miles without stopping
3. Help 4 families double (who will they be?)
4. Help 100 people get started on their life with a pay plan (if we can help 7 in one day I know we can do this)
5. Personally sponsor 3 new people
6. Finish all Christmas shopping
7. Enjoy my family
8. Run the turkey trot
9. Be thankful
10. Achieve these goals!
