Ready to GO

Wonderful first day at our FHTM Convention. We arrived in Dallas this afternoon, dined with very dear friends, mixed, mingled, and are completely exhausted! We start training & celebrating tomorrow at 9am. Can't wait!

I'll leave you with some pictures of what Kennedy has been up to while she spends time with her Grandpa & Deanie. More updates tomorrow!

*did you see the outside of the Omni hotel? So cool!

Gotta Run

I miss my old blog title. I think I ran more when I had "Gotta Run" as my blog name :)

I've committed myself to a training program for the fall and am very excited! I know. I know! I said I was enjoying NOT training but I've got this real competitive bone in my body that says I should just go for it! I've set a goal on my RunKeeper app and written my training plan on my calendar. I completed week 1 of training today and feel great! I've been wanting to run the New Braunfels Chosen: Marathon for Adoption for the last few years and now I am going to do it (well the half)!
Wish me luck!

19 Months Old

From Daddy:
You warm my heart every time you call for me.
You make me laugh when you make your animal sounds and when you talk to yourself in the back of the car nonstop.
I love rocking you to sleep and when we play fetch with Belle.

From Mommy:
You warm my heart when you want to brush my hair after I brush yours after bath.
You make me laugh all day! My favorite time is at night before bed when you start kissing me and tickling me. You are so sweet!
I love how sweet you are and that you want to pick out your clothes. You always want people to have shoes on also.

Food: you enjoy strawberries, bananas, avocados, watermelon, broccoli, applesauce, goldfish, cheese, eggs, waffles, pancakes, and cookies. You still drink milk 3 times a day but the doctor said you only need it twice a day so we will work on that. You love your milk and go to the fridge and ask for it. So cute! You love ice water too! If someone gives you water without ice you immediately sign "more" and ask for ice.

Play: you love to go on walks around the block and insist on NOT taking the wagon. You run and climb and say, "jump" but can't get your feet off the ground yet. You love to dance and spin around in circles. Your favorite toy right now is your VTech and you love the Around the House book that goes with it.

You talk all the time and point and growl if you can't figure out what to say for an object. On Thursday you said, "love you" for the first time and it just melted our hearts.

We love you too Kennedy Kate and can't wait to see what this fall holds for our family!

Pictures taken today after church. So precious!

Saturday Drive

Today we drove 364 miles round trip to Montgomery, TX and back for a meeting for our team. Eight guests were there to see how they can get paid back on their bills every month and 2 got started! So excited for Tammy and also for new Regional Sales Manager Henry Boyle who is a sweet and hard working 71 year old man committed to being able to help better his family financially. Never think that someone is too old or too shy or too tall or short to change something in their life. It's the heart that counts! What a fun day!

Click http://www.fhtmdvd.com for more info on how you can earn up to 25% on your bills every month and help others do the same. So fun! September 21st will be our 5th year in FHTM and we are so blessed to be a part of this!

Here's a pic of what we sang to on our drive. I love me some George!

Crazy Week Catch Up

Next week is our company convention so things have been hectic around here. My week looked like this:

Cuddles on the couch with this girly girl!

Words of affirmation from dearly loved friends!

Breakfast for supper! TRY the strawberry strudel waffles by EGGO..no really try 'em!

Walks around the block with our very independent toddler.

Planning (and in some cases buying) outfits for our convention. This is me at target during tax free weekend. I scored both the top and the skirt for a total of $18! I'm still loving the bangs too!

Here is another picture of Kennedy walking. Don't y'all just love INSTAGRAM!?

Movies galore! This little thing requests, RELLA (Cinderella to clarify) a lot but also has been enjoying the Jungle book.

I'll be back in a few days for Kennedy Kate's 19 month birthday! Can't believe how fast time is flying!

Are y'all ready for back to school? What are you most looking forward to this year?

School Days

Beginning on September 5th Kennedy will be going to the Mother's Day Out program at our church called Kingdom Kids Weekday or KKW on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-2. I am so excited for her! Next Tuesday will be our first ever meet the teacher night and we couldn't be more excited! Thank you Lord for this sweet blessing and thank you Lord for my sister-in-law Kelly who has blessed Kennedy with a new back pack and lunch box! Aren't they just the sweetest little things?!
Fun times ahead for sure!

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings like eagles;they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV)

Happenings

  • As you can tell I am trying to keep y'all up to date. I am so excited to be helping out with Kingdom Kids Weekday at our church this year! Not only will Kennedy get to go to the program at Bannockburn on Mondays and Wednesdays but I will be helping out in the 4 year old classroom! I am so excited that our home based business allows me time to serve the Lord and love on precious kids at our church and in our community.
  • At the end of this month we will be having our yearly convention with FHTM. We are excited that the event is in Dallas this year and we have over 75 people from our team that have committed to being there with us. This event brings independent representatives from all over the world together for training, motivation, tips, recognition, and celebration. You can read about other convention posts here and here and here
  • On Saturday, September 15th at 7PM at Bannockburn we are having a women's event which will have a wonderful speaker and music. If you would like to attend please let me know as soon as you can and I will get you a ticket. For more info you can click HERE
  • I have started running again but simply just for pleasure. I can't tell you that I am ready to commit to another marathon but I am enjoying running 20 minutes a day (most days). It's nice to not have the pressure of training for something looming over me.
  • My sister started a Kindergarten teaching position in Odessa and gets to meet her kids on Monday and also Landon starts Kindergarten at the same school. We are looking forward to visiting them soon and seeing the great dusty sights of Odessa, TX.
  • As some of you know my paternal grandmother mamie (real name Verlia) who lives in Roscoe, TX was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about a month ago. The doctor gave her 6 months to live if she doesn't get treatment and a year at most if she does. They will be seeing more doctors in the near future to confirm or deny these findings but I ask that you please pray for Verlia and her husband of 60+ years (I am sorry I do not know the exact amount of years) Charles Ratliff. They are so so so in love and I just love having that wonderful example in my life.
Other than that we are just training, coaching, speaking, and parenting. We love how much Kennedy is growing into her own little person and can't believe that this time next week will be the eve of her 19 month birthday! I guess I should start planning her 2nd birthday. Lots of exciting times ahead for the fall and we cannot wait!

Sleepless in Kyle, TX

*When people see our address now they say, "so Kyle from Kyle huh?" and laugh to themselves **i guess this is going to be one of those Forrest Gump things where someone every day since 6th grade has said, "Jen-nay". Anyway on to the real reason for this post:

For the last few nights we have been having to get up several times a night with Kennedy who screams and screams until we show up. Is this a "testing us" thing? She's so so sweet but this mommy needs some sleep. Do I need to start timing the tears and let her cry it out a bit? Help please! She's almost 19 months old now and getting so big. Here are some pictures from this week:

Keeping Score

I'm always trying to improve. I've always been this way. Sometimes I time myself on how fast I can fold a pile of towels and the next time I try to beat my time because if you can fold a pile of towels fast then you are a winner at life. I also always evaluate myself. Im constantly thinking on scales from 1-10.

Example(s):

  • Today I got a 0 because I was going to run but didn't
  • Today I got a 10 because I put all laundry away right after pulling it out of the dryer
  • Today I got a 5 for work because I didn't return all the calls and emails I got but somehow I have          time to blog
  • Most days I get 7's or 8's for being Mommy but I always feel like I should have pinterested an activity to do with Kennedy

Do you get the picture? Yeah, I know it's not a healthy one. But I am thankful that the Lord doesn't think about me this way. I thank the Lord that He sees me perfectly fit for His service and mission. I thank the Lord that He has been working in me and is working on removing these scores that I keep.

What a Weekend

This weekend was supposed to be an exciting one with even a trip to the beach planned. On Thursday we drove to Victoria, TX to build our team there and then hopped on 59 North to head to Richmond to spend some time with my mom. On Friday we had a meeting at a Luby's off of 290 & Tidwell in Houston and added 4 new members to our team! That evening we ate Mexican food with my mom and began packing the car for our trip to Surf Side beach the next morning. Those plans all changed at 1:30am Saturday morning when our angel baby woke up throwing up and sick. I have never seen anything so sweet and pitiful at the same time. I think this whole event was meant to be because we ended up spending Saturday in our PJ's at my mom's house snuggling, watching the Olympics, and loving on Kennedy Kate. It was relaxing to not have anywhere to be or go. On Sunday I got up and went to church with my mom while Kyle stayed at my mom's house and kept Kennedy. After church we went to my Aunt Candy's house to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. How awesome! Kennedy felt terrible when we got there but instantly changed her mood when she saw the buffet of chips and queso and guacamole. She is a little lady after my own heart! She would take her little chips and dip them just right and say, "yum yum" and then sip on her Pedilite. At 4 we headed back home to our house and Kennedy was fast asleep by 9pm. Even though this weekend was not what we had planned it was a true blessing to care for our little one in her time of need. Don't you know that God feels like that about us ALL THE TIME!!!

How awesome!

How to NOT Go to the Beach

We had a big beach weekend planned and then Kennedy Kate woke up at 1:30am throwing up. This is what our sweet angel had to say about it:
