Week 11?

My "What to Expect When You're Expecting" application for IPhone says that tomorrow starts my 11th week. I keep getting confused by this because my pregnancy ticker seems behind but then not. Did any else have this confusion or am I the only one?

Anyway: I found a new ticker on thebump.com that I like MUCH better! Love seeing the size of the baby. I also found these dates helpful

7/22/2010

Beginning of 3rd trimester:

10/24/2010

Probably Due Date1/25/2011

So with all that being said: Here is the 11th week update! A lot seems to be happening this week!!!

How the baby's growing at 11 weeks:

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, and is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccuping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

* This week you might want to head over to Lauren at Eleventy-Billion Reasons to follow her baby blog! Love having friends who are pregnant with me!

What the Hecky Dern?

Hecky Dern: A word used by my dad instead of cursing :)

Anyway..in the last month I have noticed some darkening of my upper lip that is not a moustache. Yes, I argued with the eye brow waxing lady at pearl nails. Our conversation went like this:

lady: "you nee lip wax too"
Me: "No its just like dark freckles that appeared out of no where"
lady: "no, you nee lip wax"
Me: "im pregnant and my skin is being weird"
lady: "i tell you you nee lip wax!!!"
I get my lip waxed
me: "its still there"
lady: "oh you right. It still there"

thanks lady for the $7.00's more. In all seriousness I love that place :) and loved this moment!

So in closing: it is a bit of a bother but totally worth it to be carrying around my baby prune! What a blessing this season of life is! I will proudly sport my upper lip with a smile :)

Monday Inspiration

To help start your Monday off on the right foot, I bring you Mr. Michael Jordan. If this doesn't inspire you to follow your dreams I don't know what will. I cried.

WOW

I'm sorry that I keep changing my blog background. It went out of control when I decided to try one of Blogspots recommended layouts. BIG mistake. I think I finally have it looking the way I want but it's not quite right yet. Sometimes I wish I understood and could write my own HTML code.

Anyway, I'm thinking about changing my blog title since my blog is less about running these days. I think I would rather have a title that goes with "Jenny" or "Childress" or "family" I am taking recommendations now and the winner will receive a $10.00 gift card to Sonic. (Also let me know if you think I should keep the name the same..you could win too)

Exciting I know :) Thanks for the help!!

Starting Week 10

Today I start my 10Th week of pregnancy!! I will give you the details of what is taking place with baby later but I know you all have been waiting to read about my first Dr. appointment.

Meet my Doctor! Dr. Rutter is at the new Kyle hospital and I totally recommend her!
We arrived at our appointment at 9:30 AM. I gave a urine sample and was taken to this nice room with a very fancy machine. I'm excited!! The screen you see on the right is the one that I was able to see the baby on.
The ultrasound was on of the most amazing experiences of my life! I knew I was pregnant but seeing this little guy or girl on that screen made me speechless. The first thing I could see was the little tiny heart beat fluttering! SO THRILLING!! Kyle took a picture of the Ultrasound machine.
This is a picture of the tiny "prune's" heart beat. On the screen it said my babies little heart was beating 174 bpm and it was the sweetest sound. Only one baby and one heart beat.
The rest of the appointment was spent answering my questions, getting information, going through a gift bag, and having blood drawn for lab work.

Our next appointment is on July 26th at 9:15 AM and we can't wait!

Baby at 10 Weeks:
Though he's the size of a prune-- a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside the womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size— to nearly 3 inches.

** Oh, And remember that Chinese Calendar test thingy? It doesn't work! My friend Beth was supposed to be carrying a girl but alas found out on Monday that she is having a boy! We are so excited for them!! Guess we will have to wait 10 more weeks to find out what we are having.

9

Tomorrow concludes my 8th week of pregnancy and I begin my 9th! We have our first ultrasound on Monday, June 21st at 9:30 AM

Here's what is going on with baby this week:

Your new resident is nearly an inch long —about the size of a grape— and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

June 14, 2000

I am forced into reflexion today because I prayed and accepted Christ as my Lord and savior 10 years ago TODAY!!! Thank you Lord for saving me and I pray that you would continue to use me all the days of my life!

Meet Craig Van Ryswyk. The youth pastor who prayed with me to accept Christ on that Wednesday night at First Baptist Church Canyon Lake. This man is such a blessing in the lives of so many!!

Yes. I've always been enthusiastic but being a daughter of Christ brings pure joy! Here is a picture of me on my very first mission trip to Washington.
This is my friend Stephanie McGilberry who became a Christian soon after me and I just love this picture because well..its her!! (Amazon Angels hahahahah)
Here is the picture of the youth group that showed me what true acceptance and unconditional Godly love is. I'm in the front left in the white U.I.W. shirt sitting next to Christina :)

Boy or Girl?

As you can imagine we are eager to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I have dreamt about baby boy or girl two times this week. While getting my hair cut almost 2 weeks ago I was told that there is a Chinese pregnancy calendar that is ALWAYS right ;) So I got on iPhone googled said pregnancy calendar and my result was
So I guess now we just wait and see!

One More Thing

One more thing before I sign off for today:

My friend Kristen Over at Gohean Crazy posted this picture! I love seeing her at all the different stages of her pregnancy and I am inspired to do the same! Just thought you might be inspired to do the same thing some day :)

What's Up?

I'm not sure what is going on lately but only a few of my blogging favorites have been blogging!! Come on girls! Tell me what's on your mind! I look forward to reading your entries more than you know! Here's a topic for ya!

What are your plans for the summer?

gottaruncatchmelater.blogspot.com.jpg

Grab my button and post :)

We don't have any other plans for the summer except for working, hanging out with friends, and growing a baby. My first Ultrasound is on June 21st at 9:30 AM so you can pray for that. That day is also the day/time that my friend Beth finds out if she is having a boy or a girl!! AND my nephew will be 3! What a day huh?!

Anyway, We had a blast in the Bahamas! If you ever have a chance to swim with dolphins you HAVE to do it! It was amazing and earns me another charm for my "Bucket Bracelet" . These bracelets are real and I encourage you to purchase a NEW charm bracelet and get to work!

Love you all and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

8

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby -- about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

Atlantis

I know..I know..I'm on vacation BUT what is more relaxing than blogging in the most comfortable bed EVER?! I would love to tell you about our stay so far:

Some of you have noticed that I have cut my hair. I love it! It is about an inch under my chin and cut a bit shorter in the back. So fun and MUCH cooler :)

We arrived on Paradise Island on Sunday evening at around 7:00 PM and walked around the Atlantis because the pools close at 7 (probably so everyone will go to the Casino and Gamble).

We slept until 10:30 AM on Monday, paid a total of $57.00 for a breakfast buffet which is fabulous but not $57.00 fabulous, walked the beach, swam in 3 different pools, rode on mild rides at the waterpark, shared a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch, had a cocktail (water) party with FHTM, a wonderful dinner, and talked the night away with some wonderful friends out by a pool.

Today we woke up at 10:30 again, had a wonderful breakfast courtesy of FHTM, walked the beach, waterpark, had an ice cream cone, swam, tanned, drank lots of water, had a 14 oz steak that I could not finish and dessert for dinner, went to the casino to try my hand at the slot machine with a jackpot of $66,000 (I lost $20.00), watched the Lakers play with our California friends, listened/danced to fun music while watching said Laker game...SO FUN!!

Tomorrow is our last full day and we are ready to soak it up! We have a dolphin swim at 2:20 pm and I am so excited about this! We will also have a wonderful breakfast, more time at the beach, a closing dinner/dance party and enjoy our day.

Thankfully my little "raspberry" sized baby has been pleasant to carry around these last few days. I have only felt queasy a hand full of times usually when I have waited too long to eat.

I just completed my 7th week of pregnancy and it is all flying by! I hope the rest of this goes by this quickly! My next post will be about what is going on this 8th week :)

Thanks for reading!

Blessings in the Blah

Why do they call it Morning Sickness when it lasts all day? Today was the first day of queasiness for me. I never puked but I felt like I was car sick ALL day. I think I will become friends with the following two things. The ONLY things I am hungry for:

Even though I feel the way I do I am so very excited to be experiencing each day of pregnancy! I have wanted to be a mom since I was old enough to carry around a doll and I will find blessings in each moment. We cannot wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!!

I'll keep you posted :) and prayers are greatly appreciated!

Blueberry

6 WEEKS DOWN..
SO MANY TO GO!!

7 week update:
The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, a little larger than a blueberry!

If you could see inside the womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

To Answer Some Questions I've Been Asked:
- I have not been vomit-sick, just occasional nausea (usually if I'm hungry)
- Yes, we do want to find out if its a boy or a girl and should know on or before August 31st (which seems SO Far AWAY!!)
- We Do have some names picked out and just having fun throwing some out there. I keep changing my mind and that's okay :)
- I can't wait until our next
appt. on June 21st at 9:30 AM
- Our families are super excited and this baby will be the first grand child for Carol and Johnny
Childress

What other questions do yall have?
