Song Lyric Sunday

My mom moved to Houston (Sugar Land) yesterday from my "home base" in New Braunfels. I wasn't quite sure how I would feel about this but I felt a little "scattered" as I drove back to our apartment in Austin. I decided to listen to some John Mayer because I didn't feel like listening to the same old songs on the radio and in my 6 disc CD changer in the soon to be paid off Mazda3. John wins this weeks spot on Song Lyric Sunday with "Why Georgia". It is said that, "Its weird how songs speak to me. So weird.

I am driving up 85 in the
kind of morning that lasts all afternoon
just stuck inside the gloom

Four more exits to my apartment but
I am tempted to keep the car in drive
and leave it all behind

Cause I wonder sometimes
about the outcome
of a still verdictless life

Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?

I rent a room and I fill the spaces with
wood in places to make it feel like home
but all I feel's alone
It might be a quarter life crisis
or just the stirring in my soul

Either way, I wonder sometimes
about the outcome
of a still verdictless life

Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, why Georgia, why?

So what, so I've got a smile on me
but it's hiding the quiet superstitions in my head
Don't believe me
Don't believe me
When I say I've got it down

Everybody is just a stranger but
that's the danger in going my own way
I guess it's the price I have to pay
still "Everything happens for a reason"
is no reason not to ask myself

If I'm living it right
Am I living it right?
Am I living it right?
Why, tell me why
Why, why Georgia why?

I Miss My Friend

Lindsay Best was my very best friend while I was at Texas State. My "Soul Mate Friend" We ran into each other several times the first day we met. I first saw her outside of the library on my way to go for a run, then I saw her at that same track where I was running, then later the same day I saw her at Wal-Mart. This time we stopped to talk. The next winter I went Skiing with Lindsay and some friends in Colorado,we became running buddies, and prayed through my parents divorce, the next summer we became roommates, the next 2 years we were inseparable. We okayed each others respective boyfriend prospects, watched movies late into the night, and went to Midnight Rodeo in Austin EVERY single Thursday to dance. We spent 3 weeks in the summer of 2005 basking in the Costa Rican sun learning of a foreign language, salsa dancing, and their famous rum ;) Lindsay stayed the remainder of that summer and fell in love with Costa Rica. She returned in time for the fall semester but my dear friend was changed. Something brave and strong had risen up in her that summer. I couldn't relate. I remember her crying in her room at our apartment longing for those beautiful beaches. Spring semester passed quickly and I graduated from Texas State. Lindsay left a few days after my graduation for Costa Rica, didn't get to approve Kyle for me ;) and returned briefly in the winter of 2006 where we got to have a brief dinner at Chili's (I was already engaged to be married). She returned back to Costa Rica and I haven't seen her since. She is alive and thriving in the Costa Rican sun I am sure but I can't help but long for my Soul Mate Friend on hot sunny summer days. I love you Lindsay Best and like always I am praying for you!

June 14th, 2000

Yesterday was really significant. I soaked it all in and savored it for myself and the LOVE of my life. On June 14th, of 2000 I received Jesus as my savior and surrendered my life to Him for His use. I become restless because I long to be with Him. He has redeemed me, cleansed me, removed my sins, sacrificed, and taught me really hard lessons. I praise Him because He knows me. Every bit. I praise Him because He holds my future. Click HERE to hear a song of praise to Him.

Phil Wickham:
You wrote a letter and You signed Your name I read ever word Read it page by page You said that You’d be coming Coming for me soon Oh my God I’ll be ready for You Chorus: (‘Cause) I want to run on greener pastures I want to dance on higher hills I want to drink from sweeter waters In the misty morning chill And my soul is getting restless For the place where I belong I can’t wait to join the angels and sing my heaven song Verse 2: I hear Your voice and I catch my breath Well done my child enter in, in rest As tears of joy roll down my cheek Oh it’s beautiful beyond my wildest dreams Chorus x2

Guatemala

In the Winter of 2009 a group of my very dear friends went on a mission trip to Guatemala to serve for a week at an orphanage. I have been longing to go to there with the church since the year BEFORE my group of friends went and I am praying to be able to go there this January. Please pray for this opportunity along with me.
I will leave you with a few photos that I have stolen from Jenny
 H's photo albums.

M90X

Momma always said that the truth will set you free. So, here it comes!!! I have lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks with P90X. I think I should have done MUCH better than that but I'm having trouble taming my sweet tooth (sweets aren't allowed for 90 days and I have indulged more than twice). This week I was pretty fed up with working out in my little 5X8 space in front of the T.V. in my apartment living room. I just HAD to go for a run. Well, this has officially unleashed my love for running again (the Lord deserves a shout of "glory") so this is what I have decided. I am no longer going to be following the P90X plan. I am tweaking it to fit my running needs (runner's high is true ya know?) but maintaining 6 workouts per week. I will keep up with the weights/resistance workouts as scheduled but instead of using their cardio plan I will stick with my San Antonio Marathon Training. This calls for a total renaming of my new workout regimen. It's now called M90X. Marathon90X. X meaning "Extreme" and to "Bring It" I'm bringing it all right. Right to the starting line of the San Antonio Rock'N Roll on November 15th.I'll try real hard to stick with the P90X eating plan too! I'm feeling great!

Ain't Nothin'...

There ain't nothin' like a bubble bath after a long day.

There ain't nothin' like a good hard run.

There ain't nothin' like a rainy day watching movies with Kyle.

...Like laughing until you cry

...Like a snow cone :)

...Like helping others

...Like being with friends and family

...Like sipping on some coffee that's full of Coffee Mate French Vanilla creamer

Just wanted to share some things that there "Ain't nothing like". I was inspired after a 2 mile run this morning (running is not on the P90X workout plan but I just HAD to put my shoes on and go!) What's "ain't nothin' like" to you?
