Top 2 Tuesdays..Songs

Dare You to Move by Switchfoot is my favorite song of all time. It is so inspiring and listening to it during a long run or through a difficult time changed me and helped me grow.

Your Love is Extravagant by Darrell Evans is a beautiful worship song but also the song my husband sang at our wedding right before I walked down the isle. I LOVE IT!

23 Weeks

Thank you Zazzle.com for supplying this fabulous sticker for "23 and Fabulous" That's right everyone! I'm 23 weeks pregnant!

How your baby's growing:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 23 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby KK is the size of a large Mango
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 22 lbs
Maternity Clothes: ordered the wrong size in Gap jeans. Going to try Old Navy maternity jeans since they are half the price.
Gender: GIRL next appointment on October 12th for glucose screening
Movement: KK is kicking all the time!
What I miss: my old jeans
Cravings: Milk, Fruit, Cheese
Symptoms: I'm having to take a nap every afternoon
Best Moment this week: KK's bedding has been purchased for her thanks to my dad and we have been sent 2 more gifts for her nursery already. Excited about picking a paint color for her room soon!

22 Weeks!

Kennedy is now the size of a spaghetti squash and I feel her moving all the time. I had no idea how reassuring feeling her movement would be!

How your baby's growing:

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby KK is the size of a spaghetti squash
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 19 lbs
Maternity Clothes: just ordered a new pair of GAP Maternity jeans online! CAN'T wait to see how these work out
Gender: GIRL next appointment on October 12th for glucose screening
Movement: KK is kicking all the time! Mostly after meal time and late at night/early morning
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach
Cravings: Milk, Fruit
Symptoms: I'm having to take a nap every afternoon now
Best Moment this week: Kennedy Kate is now registered at Pottery Barn Kids & Target and all shower dates are planned. I am so thankful for all of the ladies who are helping to plan these celebrations.

I Just Might Need Some Prayers..

I'm going to preface this post by saying that I DO NOT want your advice ;) I say that with all of the love in the world. I just need a place to vent and ask for prayer. I'm writing this post through tears
  1. because I'm pregnant
  2. because I NEVER thought I would ever think such a thing
Okay..here it goes. Please pray about what to do with our 4 (yes 4) pets. The bigger I get the more I think I just won't be able to handle 2 cats and 2 dogs when the baby gets here. Do I keep one of each, all, get rid of all?? I just LOVE each of these animals. (don't answer above question because I don't want advice remember?!? I'm venting)

Oh Dear Lord,
I need your wisdom in this. I give You anxiety. I give You my fear. I give You my hormones. Thank You that You already know how things turn out. Thank You for knowing my heart and just how much I love each of our precious pet babies. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me in this.

*READERS: Thank you for not thinking im crazy and for not giving me advice and for praying with me on this. I appreciate yall so much!

Ramblings..

  • Kennedy Kate is weighing in at approximately 13 ounces and appears to have all of her fingers, her brain and heart are normal. She has everything she is supposed to!
  • We are finished registering. We have decided to keep it simple for everyone and have only registered at 2 places. Target & Pottery Barn Kids I am really confused about diaper sizes so I haven't registered for those but all/any diapers are VERY MUCH appreciated :)
  • My sister Lindsey had an interview yesterday in Big Spring, Texas for a Kindergarten teaching job and was called in today for a second interview. I am SO excited for her and praying for a new start and new job. She should know something by Friday so please pray for her.
  • My favorite show of the year is over until next summer. Big Brother was great this year! One of my favorite seasons by far! The next time it comes on I will have a 6 month old child..yikes :)
  • I am getting more and more excited about Casey and Whitney's wedding which is on 10-10-10. I am honored that she asked me to be a bridesmaid. I can't wait to pick up my dress.
  • On Friday I am riding with my dad to San Angelo to get Landon and then on to Roscoe, TX to watch the Fightin' Roscoe Plowboys in Friday night football. I'm excited because my granddaddy "snowflake" (He's one of a kind) used to be the voice of Plowboy football and he will be announcing this game because it is homecoming. Go Purple and White!
  • I FINALLY remembered to buy ink for our printer, got home printed about 10 copies and BAM..no paper. haha. Why does stuff like this happen?
  • I'm reading "Safe People" by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend. Crystal gave me this book over a year ago and I couldn't get past the first few chapters (im weak like that) but I am now determined to know who I should be around and who I need to be to glorify God in my relationships. I want to be a better version of me. It's not an easy read or much for pleasure. It's real dig down and get out the filth stuff. I challenge each of you to pick up this book. You can read over a summary of part 1 here
  • I love my husband
  • I love what we have the privledge of doing with our days
  • I am better than I deserve.

21 Weeks

BABY THIS WEEK
Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long —the length of a carrot (or the size of an ice cold root beer). You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 21 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby KK is the size of a carrot
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 19 lbs
Maternity Clothes: wore a non maternity dress yesterday and was MISERABLE. Must go shopping again soon.

What I miss: running really fast :)
Cravings: Milk, Maccaroni and Cheese, Sweettarts
Symptoms: heartburn after eating, kicking, fatigue
Best Moment this week: KK is now registered at Pottery Barn Kids & Target (I still have things to add at Target)

Kicks & Kentucky

Over Labor day weekend we made our way to Lexington, Kentucky for our company convention called, "Fortune Fest". The first night there we had a huge team rally where 200+ of our teammates gathered and we got to share the success stories of those on the team with the group. As the excitement in the group grew to a rowdy clapping cheering section baby KK began to kick me for the very first time. Up until this point I could feel Kennedy flutter daily but had never felt an actual kick. Since that night Kyle has been able to feel her kicking throughout the day and yesterday we could actually see my belly moving! SO EXCITING!! I can't wait to meet her :)

At Rupp area
US

Kyle, his brother Kane, and our friend Scott
Molly is one of my best friends in FHTM I am so blessed to know her.

Our next event is the 10 year anniversary of our company in Florida over New Year's. I won't be able to go because Kennedy will be here less than a month later so Kyle will go with his brother Kane. Can't wait for the next FHTM reunion/training/fun!

Random Dozen

1. Describe the best sandwich in the world, according to you. Wheat bread, Provolone cheese, turkey, crispy bacon, avocado slices, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and ranch dressing. Think I might have that today :)
2. Which inspires you more: a good conversation, a song, a book or movie? Songs inspire me.
3. What is your favorite board game? SCRABBLE
4. As you grow older, are you more or less patient with small children? I think I am less patient and that makes me kind of nervous since I am about to have one. Maybe it is different with your own children, hopefully.
5. Name one item you never let yourself run out of. Chap Stick
6. Do you agree with Tennyson's assertion, "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?" Absolutely!!!!
7. Name one national treasure or monument that you have visited. Lincoln Memoriial
8. Which is more painful, to be disappointed in someone else or to be disappointed in yourself? Disappointed in myself for sure. I am really hard on myself but seem to forgive others easily.
9. What makes your kitchen uniquely yours? Bright color accents and my Kitchenaid Mixer
10. Are you a crafty person? Some times I am VERY crafty but I wouldn't call myself a crafty person.
11. What is your favorite traditional picnic or bbq (cookout) food? Potato Salad
12. Name one leisurely activity you enjoyed over Labor Day Weekend.
I took 2 naps on Monday. I will post about our wonderful weekend in Kentucky tomorrow but traveling made me extremely tired so I slept yesterday :)

20 Weeks

We've reached the half way point in my pregnancy! I read an article today in Runner's World magazine about 2 marathoners who continue to run one hour a during their pregnancies. They described their pregnancies as a marathon (or training for one) and I am encouraged because I have done that! I've feel a bit convicted about not continuing to run and after reading that article I know that I can start up again and I will. I will begin tomorrow with the beginners runner schedule from my favorite book! The Runner's Handbook by Bob Glover. I am excited!
*IN OTHER NEWS: Kyle is going to run the Austin Distance Challenge this year!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR HIM and can't wait to cheer him on!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 20 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby KK is the size of a cantaloupe
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 18 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Pants are hard to find in size LONG
Gender: GIRL next appointment on September 22nd
Movement: Kyle felt her kick the other night!
Sleep: much better now but only on my left side
What I miss: putting on a nice pair of blue jeans and heels
Cravings: Sweet Tarts candy
Symptoms: heartburn after eating, kicking, fatigue
Best Moment this week: Kennedy Kate received several gifts last week. We are very thankful and blessed!
I got the "Pregnancy Highlights" idea from Kelly's Korner. One of my new favorite blogs.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against her torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of her head to her bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, she's measured from head to toe.)

She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
