20 Weeks

We've reached the half way point in my pregnancy! I read an article today in Runner's World magazine about 2 marathoners who continue to run one hour a during their pregnancies. They described their pregnancies as a marathon (or training for one) and I am encouraged because I have done that! I've feel a bit convicted about not continuing to run and after reading that article I know that I can start up again and I will. I will begin tomorrow with the beginners runner schedule from my favorite book! The Runner's Handbook by Bob Glover. I am excited!
*IN OTHER NEWS: Kyle is going to run the Austin Distance Challenge this year!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR HIM and can't wait to cheer him on!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 20 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby KK is the size of a cantaloupe
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 18 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Pants are hard to find in size LONG
Gender: GIRL next appointment on September 22nd
Movement: Kyle felt her kick the other night!
Sleep: much better now but only on my left side
What I miss: putting on a nice pair of blue jeans and heels
Cravings: Sweet Tarts candy
Symptoms: heartburn after eating, kicking, fatigue
Best Moment this week: Kennedy Kate received several gifts last week. We are very thankful and blessed!
I got the "Pregnancy Highlights" idea from Kelly's Korner. One of my new favorite blogs.

How your baby's growing:

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against her torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of her head to her bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, she's measured from head to toe.)

She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

  1. Congrats on the halfway mark! I remember jogging alongside a *very* pregnant woman in a tribute run and she was in far better shape than I! Good for you for staying so fit!

    And I *love* KK's name!
