Press On...

Press On Like an Olympian:

Sunday was complete confirmation to Kyle and I that we are exactly where we are supposed to be at exactly the right time. Our Pastor at Manchaca Baptist Church spoke about pressing on like an Olympian. He preached over Philippians 3:7-4:1

I want to share with you the notes, meditation, and reflexion that I took down in my journal during Sundays church service.

Spiritual focus and goals get us past where we are

Paul had 3 specific goals
  1. I want to know Christ
  2. I want to be found in Christ (when you look at me you know I'm aligned with Christ)
  3. I want to be like Him
verse 12
  1. We celebrate what God has done and we know there is more for us who believe
  2. I'm gonna keep pressing on
  3. There is a finish line
  4. **Forget what is behind me!
  5. **My life is about what is in front of me!
Recognize who we are and who we belong to
Eagerly wait for Jesus

ACCOMPLISH A PERSONAL BEST FOR GOD EVERY SINGLE DAY

Can you imagine what you could do if you lived Paul's words every single day?? I have made decision after decision to press on but not a single decision is actually made until there is action. I have heard this quote over and over again in the past few months and I have to share it with you. "Success and Failure are on the same street...success is just a little bit further up the street" I urge you my friends to keep persevering in your goals, dreams, ministries, relationships, etc.

Hebrews 12: 1 and 2
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

  1. You have both seemed so positive and happy lately and I'm so glad things are going so well for you both! I like the quote about success and failure on the same street-- interesting way to think about it...

  2. That was a GREAT sermon!!! I love this:

    1. We celebrate what God has done and we know there is more for us who believe
    2. I'm gonna keep pressing on
    3. There is a finish line
    4. **Forget what is behind me!
    5. **My life is about what is in front of me

Those five statements are the world of difference between success and failure. Thank for sharing.

    I love you, Jenny!
