I kept saying, "praise the Lord" & "thank you God" and Kennedy kept repeating me and then thanking God all evening as well!!

Here's a few pictures from this afternoon of her getting her Valentines ready for her KKW party tomorrow!

Can't believe that Kennedy Kate is 2!! We had a wonderful party for her at our house yesterday and had such a sweet time! She loved answering the door as guests arrived and couldn't wait to open presents! Her castle tent was a hit as were the balloons, Pom poms, and bubbles she received.

22 Months!

Okay on to the post:

Kennedy you are simply THE BEST little girl I have ever met! In the last week you have started putting several words together and repeat everything you hear (we have to be careful). In the car yesterday we were listening to Christmas music and you starting singing, "pa rum pa pa pum" with the little drummer boy! Are you kidding me? I melted! Today I said, "girlfriend, are you ready to go to school?" and you responded, "girlfriend READY!!" Oh my stars! You know all of your colors now but get red and orange mixed up a lot. You love TO color! Here is a random list of all of the amazing things you are doing:

• You wear size 4 diapers during the day but size 5 at night (will switch to all 5 soon)
• You wear 24m and 2t clothes but are more comfortable in 2t's
• You wear a size 6 WIDE shoe which are IMPOSSIBLE to find
• You go to Kingdom Kids Weekday 2 days a week at our church and you love your teachers Kim and Traudl and always talk to me about all of your classmates.
• You love chips. 
• You nap for 2-3 hours a day 
• You typically go to bed around 8:30pm and sleep until 8:30am (amazing)
• You love your toy Vacuum and you also love to help sweep 
• You love to read
• You yell, "amen" after we pray and add the names of anyone I might have forgotten to pray for
• You are so sweet and cuddly
• Right now you mostly only want me if I am around. 
• You are friendly. 
• You think daddy is so funny
• You love your dog Belle
• You love to blow kisses
• You talk all the time
• You always want to watch Rella, Occhio, Monkeys, Dogs, Toys which translates to Cinderella, Pinocchio, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, or Toy Story
• When we cover you up at night you say, "cozy!"
• You love going to Sonic and Chick-fil-a 
• You eat mostly anything except pasta. You don't like pasta at all (weird)
• and the list could go on and on and on

Kennedy Kate, 

You are pure joy! I cannot believe that you have already been in our lives for 22 months! Every day is just amazing with you and I cannot express the love that I have for you. You are so funny and sweet and your daddy and I adore you. I pray that you keep your determined and sweet spirit and that you Love the Lord with all of your heart. You are a gift and I love you!

21 Months & 1st Ear Infection

Yesterday Kennedy celebrated her 21 month birthday with the sniffles and a cough that woke her several times during the night. Today she woke up from her nap with goopy red eyes and was also tugging on her ear. A trip to the after hours clinic confirmed an ear infection and pinkeye for our angel gir. Her favorite thing to watch right now is Pinocchio which is, "nocchio" and through tears she requested we watch that this evening. We all snuggled up with some goldfish crackers and cuddled but every time she would cough she would cry. Poor little thing! She has been fast asleep since 8:30 and I pray she gets good rest tonight.

19 Months Old

From Daddy:
You warm my heart every time you call for me.
You make me laugh when you make your animal sounds and when you talk to yourself in the back of the car nonstop.
I love rocking you to sleep and when we play fetch with Belle.

From Mommy:
You warm my heart when you want to brush my hair after I brush yours after bath.
You make me laugh all day! My favorite time is at night before bed when you start kissing me and tickling me. You are so sweet!
I love how sweet you are and that you want to pick out your clothes. You always want people to have shoes on also.

Food: you enjoy strawberries, bananas, avocados, watermelon, broccoli, applesauce, goldfish, cheese, eggs, waffles, pancakes, and cookies. You still drink milk 3 times a day but the doctor said you only need it twice a day so we will work on that. You love your milk and go to the fridge and ask for it. So cute! You love ice water too! If someone gives you water without ice you immediately sign "more" and ask for ice. 

Play: you love to go on walks around the block and insist on NOT taking the wagon. You run and climb and say, "jump" but can't get your feet off the ground yet. You love to dance and spin around in circles. Your favorite toy right now is your VTech and you love the Around the House book that goes with it. 

You talk all the time and point and growl if you can't figure out what to say for an object. On Thursday you said, "love you" for the first time and it just melted our hearts. 

We love you too Kennedy Kate and can't wait to see what this fall holds for our family!

School Days

Beginning on September 5th Kennedy will be going to the Mother's Day Out program at our church called Kingdom Kids Weekday or KKW on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-2. I am so excited for her! Next Tuesday will be our first ever meet the teacher night and we couldn't be more excited! Thank you Lord for this sweet blessing and thank you Lord for my sister-in-law Kelly who has blessed Kennedy with a new back pack and lunch box! Aren't they just the sweetest little things?!

Sleepless in Kyle, TX

*When people see our address now they say, "so Kyle from Kyle huh?" and laugh to themselves **i guess this is going to be one of those Forrest Gump things where someone every day since 6th grade has said, "Jen-nay". Anyway on to the real reason for this post:

For the last few nights we have been having to get up several times a night with Kennedy who screams and screams until we show up. Is this a "testing us" thing? She's so so sweet but this mommy needs some sleep. Do I need to start timing the tears and let her cry it out a bit? Help please! She's almost 19 months old now and getting so big. Here are some pictures from this week:

What a Weekend

This weekend was supposed to be an exciting one with even a trip to the beach planned. On Thursday we drove to Victoria, TX to build our team there and then hopped on 59 North to head to Richmond to spend some time with my mom. On Friday we had a meeting at a Luby's off of 290 & Tidwell in Houston and added 4 new members to our team! That evening we ate Mexican food with my mom and began packing the car for our trip to Surf Side beach the next morning. Those plans all changed at 1:30am Saturday morning when our angel baby woke up throwing up and sick. I have never seen anything so sweet and pitiful at the same time. I think this whole event was meant to be because we ended up spending Saturday in our PJ's at my mom's house snuggling, watching the Olympics, and loving on Kennedy Kate. It was relaxing to not have anywhere to be or go. On Sunday I got up and went to church with my mom while Kyle stayed at my mom's house and kept Kennedy. After church we went to my Aunt Candy's house to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. How awesome! Kennedy felt terrible when we got there but instantly changed her mood when she saw the buffet of chips and queso and guacamole. She is a little lady after my own heart! She would take her little chips and dip them just right and say, "yum yum" and then sip on her Pedilite. At 4 we headed back home to our house and Kennedy was fast asleep by 9pm. Even though this weekend was not what we had planned it was a true blessing to care for our little one in her time of need. Don't you know that God feels like that about us ALL THE TIME!!!

I'm Not Saying

I'm not saying that she's potty trained but Kennedy used the potty tonight after her bath and she was very excited! I've been taking her to the bathroom with me every time I go and telling her all about what I'm doing. I've been putting her on the potty on her own seat before & after bath time each day and she would just smile but tonight she went! Such a sweet girl and so so fun! We clapped & clapped! Just sweet times!

Catching Up

I guess I'll stick with my numbers here and try to blog 7 or less times each month. Chasing a 17 month old gets crazy y'all but she is so much fun! This week has been full of finishing the month strong with our business, trips to Chick-Fil-A to get out of the heat, running around the house, and teaching Kennedy animals and their sounds. We also found that our afternoons are much easier if we go somewhere with Kennedy so we have taken adventures to Cabela's, Academy, and the Outlets in San Marcos. We are having a blast with our girl.
